Thank you to everyone who liked, commented, shared and donated to our on-going Kickstarter campaign. What an amazing month since initiating our fundraiser back in the first week of August, to having such positive feedback and interest in the community!
What started as a small, traumatic moment between Zack and his Mother Michi, has evolved with the help of amazing cast and crew into a project ready for refinement. We are all extremely excited for what lies ahead for ‘Balllistic’ and look forward to keeping you posted as we finish off post-production and enter the film market!

P.S. We are not to blame for the EMA’s latest false alarms, but had a good laugh at the messages to our team poking at the idea of playing it off as possible promotion. Thankfully this was not as intimidating as the original ballistic false alarm!
What an amazing day. Not only did our local community turn-up in numbers, but the staging on a cleared street was absolutely perfect.
Shooting on Leahi Avenue, this location was the pinnacle of gorgeous, iconic Hawaii with such an intimate view of Diamond Head overlooking the chaos on ground-level. Aside from our large crew of flagmen and security, it was such a joy assembling background as both evacuees and policemen. Not to mention getting our red Mustang back.
Today was one of the most critical scenes for the entire film. There was truly so much to cover in our limited time in the residential neighborhood including:
• Staging evacuated cars
• Special effects make-up
• Directing background
• Intermittent Traffic Control
• Parking and base camp security
• Smoke machine effects
A necessary MAHALO must be made for the support from our local City and County and our local community, who made all of this possible.

I am beyond grateful to announce as of tonight we have achieved the $20,000 needed to fund this film! It took 99 backers, and came down to the final evening, but we did it. This project has been so humbling from concept until our current post-production and I truly have to thank the amazing team that has brought this story this far.

Our third day of shoot completely revolves around the Watanabe household, introducing us finally to our female lead Michi Watanabe (Una Wilding) and supporting Jaz Watanabe (Rylee Kamahele). It’s always so important to have an amazing team, especially when trying to set dress an entire house – did I mention we stuck to extremely long takes in continuous POV?

Our second day at Lanikea at Waikiki, we shot our remaining scenes including Poolside and Interior Lobby. Another gorgeous early morning, and such a pleasure to see so many returning background! Hats off to our craft service mastermind COOKING FRESH for a crazy assortment of beverages, pupus and delicious salads and pastas.
Quite a lot to get through including panicked scenes within a lobby interior. If you think staging background to walk around behind talent was tough, you may want to steer clear of a mob of confused Waikiki tourists running for their lives.
And we’re off! First principal photography underway and what a gorgeous morning to begin. We were truly blessed with a great turnout of local background, who quite frankly made these scenes come to life. Started around 4AM with set-up, picture up by 6AM… you got to love film life.
Our first day we decided to shoot our valet scenes, which meant we got to shoot our principal vehicle the RED FERRARI! What a car, perfect for putting a character like Ginger Guest (Allen Cole) in the right, entitled mindset.

As the first legitimate indie film after film school, I wanted to ensure it was done by the books. Even as a small budget short, partnering with the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), stands behind the industry initiative to legitimize union actors, respecting their craft through proper protocol and worker’s compensation. I stand by my decision to collaborate with SAG-AFTRA as it presents the opportunity to work with the best local talent under the guidance of a nationally recognized labor union.
